Spoken Psychoanalys | Illustrations
This series of illustrations, inspired by Anna Gelman's research utilizing Lacan's theories, visually depicts the tension between the individual and the family. The designs, echoing the infinity of the Möbius strip, aim to deepen the reader's understanding and create a visual dialogue with the book's subjects.

A Möbius strip is a mathematical and topological structure. The book refers to the mental structure described by Lacan, where the Möbius strip serves as a model for continuity and disconnection, representing infinity and the interplay between the inner and outer self.

The Klein bottle, another geometric structure, symbolizes a mental framework where the neck of the bottle loops into itself, creating a connection between the inside and the outside. This concept suggests a person’s constant interaction between their internal world and external environment.

The illustration describes the process in which a child is connected to their parents, represented as two supporting legs, but eventually becomes independent. The two straps merge into one, rising freely.
